Have an idea for a great project? Want some help getting it off the ground?
We’d love to help you out! If you think you have an idea the neighborhood needs, we invite you to fill out the form below. We’ll then share your idea with our group members, as well as with the wider neighborhood through this website and our newsletter, to help you drum up interest.

What’s the purpose of this form?
Our group has a flat organizational structure, which means that no one requires approval to pursue a project. But it also means that it is up to individuals to kickstart projects themselves. This is what this form is meant to help with.
By filling it out, you put down on paper some of the basic requirements of your idea, such as time commitment, materials, and cost. This both helps you think through the feasibility of your project and helps others gain a better understanding of what you want to do — and whether they want to participate.
This way, the hardest part — getting a project off the ground — is already taken care of. All that’s left over is doing it.
What are the requirements for a project?
We want everyone to feel empowered to pursue whatever ideas they have, so we don’t have hard and fast requirements. However, because the scope of our organization is limited, we’ve found that the most successful project proposals:
- Benefit Haywood Street or the nearby Thompson-Hunter neighborhood
- Remain inclusive, accessible, and/or available to all residents
- Encourage participation, collaboration, or volunteer involvement
- Do not have commercial components
- Include no political or religious affiliations or motives
Beyond these general guidelines, we encourage you to take a look at our mission and vision and submit a project that you think aligns with our larger goals.
Do I have to fill out every question on the form?
You are free to fill out as much or as little as you want to. Again, this form isn’t about getting a project approved or rejected. Instead, it’s a way to help advertise and advocate for a project idea you have by putting its details down on paper.
To that end, the more details you include, the better other people will understand what you’re trying to do. But if you aren’t sure about something, feel free to just fill out only what you can. It’s up to you!
Where do I send my completed form?
